This is the refreshed Wrangler, which was rolled out globally in April 2023. Of note, the Sport trim is the model’s base variant, discontinued a couple of years ago, but now it returns to the local market with more standard features.

So, what can buyers expect from the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport?

Exterior

On the outside, the refreshed Wrangler Unlimited Sport provides the same boxy goodness one would expect from the nameplate. It assumes the same boxy outline but now sports a redesigned front fascia.

Present on the front of the vehicle is a black-colored molded bumper topped by a vertical slatted grille. The latter is flanked by the Wrangler’s iconic circular headlamps, which are LED reflector lamps with automatic functionality. The Wrangler’s LED headlamps are also paired with LED daytime running lights and LED front fog lamps.

Over to the side, the 2024 Wrangler Unlimited Sport gets the same angular outline. This is further enhanced with black-colored door handles, black-colored side mirrors, and Wrangler decals.

Also from the side, one can see that the updated Wrangler Unlimited Sport now rides on 17-inch Gray aluminum wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires. If one remembers, the old Sport trim, discontinued some time ago, had a simpler-looking set of steelies.

From the rear, the 2024 Wrangler Unlimited Sport features a rear window wiper and washer, a full-size spare tire, and LED taillights. Its top end also gets the usual removable three-piece hardtop and an integrated window antenna.

Interior

Step inside the refreshed Wrangler Sport, and one will see a slightly more refined interior. It still feels like a purpose-built off-road vehicle inside this updated model, but the dashboard now gets plenty of soft-touch surfaces with contrast accent stitching.

One will also notice that it gets much larger digital displays than ever before. The central display is positioned above a new, slimmer-looking rectangular air-conditioning vent, but the side vents remain circular, while the physical controls for the air-conditioning have kept the same layout.

Amenities for the Wrangler Unlimited Sport’s driver include a manually adjustable seat with two-way lumbar support, a heated leather steering wheel, a push-to-start button, and a seven-inch TFT color digital gauge cluster.

Other features inside this updated version of the Wrangler are bucket-type seats clad in fabric, driver & passenger assist handles, illuminated cupholders, 60:40 split-folding rear seats, and a remote starting system.

Tech & Safety

Dominating the updated 2024 Wrangler Unlimited Sport dashboard is a new 12.3-inch touchscreen paired with a nine-piece Alpine Premium Sound system.

The aforementioned touchscreen display utilizes an Android operating system and features the brand’s Uconnect 5 software. This infotainment system also gets over-the-air updates, wireless Apple CarPlay, GPS navigation, and many customization options.

For device charging, this updated version of the Wrangler gets Type C USB ports for the front row and a 12-volt accessory outlet for the center console and cargo area.

Handling safety for the 2024 Wrangler Unlimited Sport is a wide array of standard safety features. This includes anti-lock braking, electronic stability control, traction control, tire pressure monitoring, child seat tethers, speed-sensing door locks, anti-lock braking, electronic roll mitigation, hill-start assist, and a rear camera, among others.

As standard, the Wrangler gets front airbags and front-seat side airbags. Added to the 2024 Sport variant are new side curtain airbags.

For more confidence on the road, several advanced driver assist systems (ADAS) reinforce the aforementioned standard safety bits, such as adaptive cruise control, full-speed forward collision warning, a parking assist system, adaptive cruise control, and Selec-Speed Control.

Of note, the Selec-Speed can regulate the Wrangler’s descent or ascent speed when going down or climbing an incline, respectively. Think of it as a cruise control system for off-roading.

Engine

Propelling the 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport is a 2.0-liter inline-4 engine that can output 268 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. This powertrain is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

For utmost off-road performance, this Wrangler trim gets a full-time four-wheel-drive system, a Dana M186 front axle, a Dana M200 rear axle, and a disconnect feature for its front axle. To protect the vehicle’s under-chassis bits, it likewise comes with a transmission skid plate, a transfer case skid platelet, and a fuel tank skid plate.

Price

The 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport is available locally at Php 4,790,000. Available colors for this trim include Firecracker Red, Granite Crystal, Silver Zenith, High Velocity, Hydro Blue, Sarge Green, Bright White, and Black.

Jeep PH offers a set of off-road-friendly half-doors for the first 50 buyers of the updated Wrangler Unlimited Sport to make the Sport trim's return to the Philippines more exciting.
